# Mid-Term Client Presentation
Due: Week 7
# Goal
Present a high level overview of all of the work that you have completed so far this semester. This presentation will show the reasoning behind your decision making and present your design and development plan with the goal of getting approval from the client.
# What should be included in the presentation?
A good way to approach this presentation is to review the content from each deliverable and use the deliverables as a loose structure for the presentation (include everything from User Research through Visual Design Concept). Dedicate a slide or two per deliverable to present key aspects of the deliverable. For example:
- User Research: present a few notable areas of your survey that informed decisions for your app
- User Stories: highlight key user tasks/needs of the app. Keep it light weight and focused on the most important parts of the deliverable.
- Data Structure: highlight key data that will be collected and how it will be used
# What should the vibe of the presentation be?
This presentation should balance being informative, while also trying to get your client excited and hyped up. The main goal is to outline your decisions and plans and have your client approve them. Meaning you need to first back up your decisions by being informative, then show off how great your plans/designs/techs are and get them excited about it so that they agree and approve them. Some ways to accomplish this:
- Keep it snappy and efficient
- Keep the content to a minimum on each slide, including only key necessary information
- Accompany content with strong visuals
- Don't make the presentation super long, aim for 15 minutes plus a question period
- Keep the content to a minimum on each slide, including only key necessary information
- Provide engaging visuals and demos
- find interesting ways to show off your design concepts of app pages (for example: nice mockups)
- include similar colours and visuals throughout your presentation
- demonstrate POCs of key tasks
- Make sure to test all POCs thoroughly ahead of time and have them all prepped to run on the same computer that is showing the presentation
- find interesting ways to show off your design concepts of app pages (for example: nice mockups)
# In-Class & Client Presentations
On Thursday February 22nd, all teams will attend the full 2 hour class in room T127. During this time each team will present to the whole class as a practice run of their presentation and will do a question period with classmates, Adesh, and Adam.
After the in-class practice, you will meet with your client and do the full presentation with them. If you are only able to meet with your client before the in-class time, please let Adesh and Adam know so we can confirm everything is good before presenting to the client.
# Client Approval
After the presentation, please fully up via email with your client and get written approval of everything presented (IA, designs, tech, etc.). If further revisions are required first that is ok. Complete the revisions then get written sign off.
